ASK, That You May be Joy-Full

“Until now you have not asked the Father for anything in My name; but now ask and keep on asking and you will receive, so that your joy may be full and complete” (Jn. 16:24).

These are the words of Jesus commanding His disciples to ask and to “keep on asking.” It is so easy to become weary in your waiting. It is so easy to accept what is because it doesn’t look like it will change. Although it may be painful, it is still easier to give up than to keep on believing. So here's what I want you to do: Consider the greatest desire of your heart – be clear and be honest! Ignore that critical, fearful, or skeptical voice inside of you that thwarts the strength of your faith. Hold that desire in your mind and declare: Father, your Son said if we ask and keep on asking in His name we WILL receive. So, here I am again – asking again – in Jesus’ name, fulfill my heart’s desire according to your will.

Trust and believe that God is a good father. Trust and believe that He has good gifts that He desires to give to His children. Trust and believe that God is not withholding but desires to bring you to the expected end He has for you. Jesus instructs you and I to ask, not for the sake of exercise or futility, no! Jesus instructs you and I to ask so that our joy may be full and complete. What are you believing God for? God is waiting for an opportunity to make you joy-full.
