Greater Than Your Perceived Capacity

God will often bring you to something greater than your perceived capacity. This is not to discourage you but rather to inform you of the incredible ingenuity that exist within you. You were created with potential that have yet to be tapped. The dimensions of your creativity and ability is immeasurable because it is not you at work within the corridors of your life, but rather the Christ in you. As the writer of Philippians declares, “… God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him” (Phil. 2:13).

I would like to challenge you in the same way the writer of Philippians challenged his original audience. Are you ready? Okay, “Do everything without complaining and arguing” (Phil. 2:14). Here is why: When you complain you are robbing yourself of the joys inherent in the opportunities you are facing. Within each challenge exists the possibility of overcoming, of being transformed, and of experiencing something new.

What if you spent your time envisioning the possibilities of victory? What if you talked more about the opportunities within the challenge than the challenge itself? What if you reminded yourself that you have access to the power source that is limitless and He will give you the power you need to do what He has called you to do? What if you talked less about your own perceptions of your capacity and allowed God to give you a vision of His capacity at work in you?
